Rare opportunity to drink a Gassac red with what seems like the minimum amount of bottle age for a fine vintage. The 2001 was a good year and this old vine Cabernet blended with a number of other varieties is now reaching perfection. Earthy, spicy deep-fruited nose with oodles of smooth, ripe fruit and tremendous balance on the palate. Give it the afternoon in a stoppered decanter and it should be perfect.
