What a stunner! Following a fantastic evening's tasting with Yalumba's educator supreme, Jane Ferrari, we have secured a tiny allocation of this wonderful red. Standing for "Fine, Dry Red 1A" (although we found an alternative name for it on the night!) and from the cooler Eden Valley region, this Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz blend comes in at 13.5% (rather than the 14%+ reds from the Barossa Valley Floor) and is just scrummy. With a lovely, ripe, lifted nose from the Cabernet, oodles of spicy, berry fruit flavours from the Shiraz and wonderfully integrated, sweet oak, this little gem of a wine is ready now and will keep beautifully for 5 years. Only 40 dozen made it into the UK, so Oz red lovers, get your hands on this little gem of a wine while it's still around! Limited availability.
